The purpose of camping tents is to keep you dry, comfortable and protected against all types of things such as rain, cold weather, snow, or even insects or stray animals.
Today, there are so many types of tents that could be purchased especially if you’re planning a trip out of town with your family. It’s nice to know that because of the so many tents available, you can choose which one you would think would fit everyone’s style or even comfort level.
Large tents are usually the ones being purchased by families because it is big enough to fit a family inside and it is also spacious that your comfort while you rest is not sacrificed.
Since camping tents are investments too, owning a large tent could also be useful for other trips not just with family but also with big group of friends. If it rains outside and you can’t be around your bonfire, staying inside the large tent could be equally as fun too. You can do whatever you want inside like play cards as a big group unlike if your tent is small; you can also stay with maybe 2-3 people inside it.
When you buy a large tent also for camping, be sure to remember that it is quite tricky to buy one. Camping tents are classified by the number of people it can accommodate. But do note that when they say it could fit 4 people, remember that it can accommodate 4 people only minus all the things like camping gear for hiking, boots, bags, and so on. Just always think bigger!
Consider getting a bigger size if you’re planning to buy a tent. The large tent you’re eyeing on could be the smallest among the large tent category so make sure to get yourself 1 size bigger or 2 sizes bigger. Of course, consider what you really need too because the bigger it gets, the higher the cost is.
Purchasing a large tent should also include the sizes in length and width. If you’re pretty tall, like maybe 6 feet tall, get yourself a tent that’s 7 feet in length. As for the width, consider your movement as you sleep. Do you move a lot? You wouldn’t want to disturb your tent mate, right?
So just remember, when you buy a large tent, always consider the things that I’ve mentioned above. If you can afford to get a large tent, then go for it. It could be a little more expensive but you’ve got so much more things to do with it and also more comfortable especially when you’re out of the comfort of your own home.
